We are a foodie family. John loves to cook, and I love to eat, so we’re basically a match made in heaven.
As much as we enjoy eating out, restaurants don’t fit well into our monthly budget. So we make all weeknight meals at home, and then sometimes treat ourselves on Sundays (yes, the kids come with!)
Home cooking also fits well into our family focus on health and sustainability. I make 6 portions for dinner, and use half as leftovers for our lunches the next day. This forces us to eat a reasonable amount, saves lunch money, and prevents unnecessary package waste from takeout.
